Entered service April 2, 1942, at San Antonio, and was assigned to Army, Co. L. 169th Infantry Reg. Trained at Ft. Warren, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Served overseas from June, 1943, to October, 1945, in Asiatic-Pacific Theater on New Guinea, Admiralty, Leyte, and with first troops in Tokyo. Received Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars and 1 Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and American Defense Ribbon. Was discharged October 19, 1945.
