Pastor Richard Budd officiated. MiChelle Nybo and Rick Knoke were soloists and Dan Nybo was organist. Casket bearers were Steve Appier, John and Roger Conway, Jay Duffy, Steve Jorgenson, Steve Oeffner and Chad Norman. Honorary bearers included special friends at Blackbaud, in Charleston, SC, as well as friends attending the service. The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds was in charge of arrangements.
Alan Sanfrid Anderson was born Oct. 30, 1963 at Rugby to Sanfrid and Avis Conway Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Leeds Lutheran Church. He graduated from Leeds High School in 1981 and graduated with honors from Mayville State College in 1985. He moved to Lancaster, Calif. and later to Palm Dale, Calif. He was a reading and language teacher at the Mojave Middle School in Mojave, Calif. He was a self taught computer expert and joined Blackbaud in Charleston, SC in September of 1997 as a technical writer of computer software. He returned to Leeds because of his illness.
Survivors include his parents of Leeds; two brothers, Arlen & David, both of Devils Lake; and a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra & Rick Knoke of Edmore.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John & Sophia Oeffner Conway and his paternal grandparents, Abel & Seena Nielsen Anderson.
