Mary Virginia "Nina" Baker, 94, of Marietta, passed away Monday (April 23, 2012) at Harmar Place in Marietta.
She was born Nov. 29, 1917, the daughter of Elmer and Frieda Epple Barnes. On May 22, 1939, she married Howard Baker, who died on March 5, 1993.
She was a lifelong Marietta resident and graduated from Marietta High School in 1935.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Barnes Baker and his wife Ann of Maumee, Ohio; and three granddaughters, Beth (Jim) O'Connor of South Lebanon, Ohio, Emily Baker Bly (Christopher) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ellen Harms (Steve) of Toledo, Ohio. She also leaves four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Richard K. Barnes, Edna Marshall McCammon, Martha Beardmore West and Phyllis Weekley.
Per Mary's request, there will be no visitation. Services and her burial will be on Saturday (April 28, 2012) at noon at East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
