Vicki L. (Haines) Joyce, age 71, of Quincy, died peacefully, Sunday, October 26, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Weymouth, raised and educated in Vermont, Boston and Quincy schools. Vicki had lived in Quincy for forty years. Vicki was employed as an assembler at the Gillette Company in South Boston for fifteen years and had been retired several years. She was an avid bingo player and was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beloved wife for fifty-two years of Michael F. Joyce, Jr., she was the devoted mother of Michelle F. Surette of Quincy and her late husband Kirk, Patricia M. Newsom and her husband David of Dallas, Georgia, Kelley A. Joyce of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Sean E. Joyce and his wife Jessica Betters of Scarborough, Maine; loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; dear sister of Judith Hawker of Quincy, Linda Maguire of Plaistow, N.H., and Cheryl Moore of Raymond, N.H. Vicki is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, on Thursday, October 30, at 11 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
