Iris Grey Mahan, 86, of Leesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. She was born in Leesville on October 15, 1919 to the late Mark and Mary Stella Littlefield Richardson. She retired from the Nixon I.S.D. and was a member of the Leesville Baptist Church, Texas Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. She married E. Coyle Mahan on September 17, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2005.

Survivors include her daughter, Coylene Oliver and her husband Dr. Bill Oliver of Gonzales; one son, Joe Mark Mahan and his wife Judy Short Mahan of Dilley; five grandchildren, Mark Mahan and Will Oliver, both of Dallas, Darryl Mahan of Pleasanton, Kriki Jesulaitis of Houston and Greyson Oliver of College Station; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Grey Jesulaitis, Clare Mariella Jesulaitis and Will Greyson Jesulaitis, all of Houston and Wade Houston Mahan of Pleasanton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Ivan Richardson.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 31, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Leesville Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Kemble officiating. Interment followed at the Leesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mark Mahan, Darryl Mahan, Will Oliver, Kriki Jesulaitis, Greyson Oliver and Edward Harvey.

Memorials may be made to the Leesville Baptist Church or to the Leesville Cemetery Association.
