Mary's father is Andrew Jones. We don't know much about him, but his military record provides evidence that he died in Lauderdale Springs, Mississippi. He was on one Muster Roll from June to October 31, 1863 and stated that he had died in a hospital in Lauderdale Springs; he was listed as absent since August 1, 1863 on another. A register of death was filed on December 18, 1863 by Mary R.C. Jones. On the http://www.lauderdalecoms.com/exclusivearticles/lauderdalespringscasualities.htm site Andrew J. Jones is listed as #404. He died of intermit fever on 5 Sep 1863 and is buried in a mass grave.

Mary's death certificate states that she was buried at the Phillips Cemetery on 31 July 1929.
