Luella HALVERSON

Luella Agnes Boland, daughter of Leslie and Annice Radloff Halverson, was born July 3 1926 in Wagner Township, Clayton County, Iowa, and died at the University Hospital, Iowa City, Feb. 18, 1962, after an illness of three weeks.

Mrs. Boland attended the rural school in Wagner Township, graduated from the Postville high school and taught school in the rural schools and also worked as a nurses aid. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Elkader.

She was married to Arthur M. Boland August 31, 1948 at McGregor.

She had lived in Dubuque, Santa Rosa, Calif., and in 1958 moved to Read Township near St. Olaf and in 1959 to the farm which was her home at the time of her death.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 22, 1962, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Arthur Kleve officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph’s cemetery, Elkader.

Pallbearers were Edward O’Brien, Walter Rugland, Waldo Embretson, Gunnar Landsgard, Vernon Trudo, and Freddie Lahrs.

Mrs. Boland is survived by her parents, husband, two children William Raymond and Judith Ann Boland at home, two sisters, Mrs. Allyn (Harriet) Barr, Freeport, Ill. And Mrs. Leonard (Deanna) O’Dell, Manchester.

Those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Kadlec, Milwaukee, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Boland and Cyril Boland, Harpers Ferry.
