She was a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree and later went on to receive her Master's Degree from Michigan State University. Creeda taught elementary education in the Essexville-Garber School System for over thirty years. On Feb. 26, 1988 she was married to James E. "Jim" Nelson in Bay City. He survives her. Creeda was a life member of the National Education Association, the Michigan Educational Association and a Life Master of Duplicate Bridge. She enjoyed traveling the world.
Surviving is her husband, Jim; and her two daughters, Betty Jo Rainwater and her husband, Michael Snable of Midland, and Monalu Packard and her husband Rodney of Middleton, Wis.; two grandchildren, Lauren Patzman and husband Tim of Milwaukee, Wis., and Bryce Packard of Middleton, Wis.; step-daughter, Sue Wallace and her partner, Ken Hagerl of Midland; and step-grandchildren, Kara Wallace, Dan Wallace and Hunter Hagerl. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Williams and Marie Curtis, both of Atlanta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nadine Stambaugh and Maxine Ivey.
Private family committal services took place in the Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. There is no other visitation or services scheduled.
