Velma Ruth Lloyd, 84, of San Angelo, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in a local hospital.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Guy White officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lloyd was born July 26, 1918, in Rochelle, McCullouch County Texas to Sam and Stella Vinson Cole.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her first husband, Elvin Ennis Knight who passed away in 1944, she then married Robert C. Lloyd on Jan. 23, 1954, he preceded her in death in 1999.
Velma was a loyal and dedicated member of Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church where she was the oldest member and also a member of the Lydia Class.
Survivors include two sons, Sam H. Knight and his wife, Lou, of Big Spring, Robert M. Lloyd and wife Judy Lloyd of San Angelo; a daughter, Barbara Gayle Cooley and husband, Mike, of Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Claude Cole of San Angelo.
