Olive Lavera Bass-Berberich-Tallman, age 90, a former resident of Mariposa for 30 years and resident of Madera for 30 years passed away on Mother's Day at a Madera hospital. Olive was 1 of 6 children in the family. She married Anderson (Andy) Bass in 1927 and they too, raised 6 children. Andy preceded her in death in 1967. They were both charter members of the Madera Church of the Nazarene. After Andy's passing, she married Joseph Berberich in Mariposa and they were together for 24 years until his death. In 1992 she married Larry Tallman of Mariposa and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Melvin A. Bass and his wife, Brenda of Kamiah, Idaho; Wesley Bass and his wife, Eva of Madera, CA and Harvey V. Bass and his wife, Shirley of Mariposa, CA. 2 Daughters: Dolores J. Rollins and her husband, Carl of Madera, CA & Mary Ruth Kenney and her husband, Del of Mariposa. Olive was the grandmother of 14, great-grandmother of 21 and great-great-grandmother of 8. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lavera Bartley in 1986.
Funeral Services at Jay Chapel in Madera. Interment at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
