AIKEN — Ernest A. Burkhalter, 57, of Aiken died Monday in an Aiken County Hospital. Funeral services will be at St. John's Methodist Church at 2:30 pm Wednesday. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sara Hunley Burkhalter; a son, Ernest A. Burkhalter Jr. of Aiken; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Walton of Aiken, Mrs. Minnie McKenna of Westbury, N.Y. and Mrs. Annabelle Sassatelli of Hicksville, N.Y.; and two brothers, John Burckhalter of Camden, N. J. and Henry Burckhalter of Aiken.
A native of Aiken, Mr. Burkhalter was the son of the late John A. and Mabel Favor Burkhalter.
He was a public accountant and had operated an office in Aiken for the past 25 years.
