Mrs. Mattie Bell, 67, wife of the late Bud Bell, died last Friday after an illness of three weeks.

A native of Wayne County, Mrs. Bell was born May 4, 1890, the daughter of the late Joe and Doshia Ann Neeley Brown. She married Bud Bell in 1906 and nine children blessed this union. Mr. Bell and one child preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bell and her family moved to this county 38 years ago and at the time of her death, she was a resident of West Somerset. She was a devout member of the Saline Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bell is survived by four daughters, Mrs. O.C. Tucker, West Somerset, Mrs. Dan Daulton, Newtown, Ohio, Mrs. Hobert Ard, Ringgold, and Mrs. Paul Nixon, Warsaw, Ind.; four sons, Goldie Bell, New Castle, Ind., Everett Bell, Betsy, Hubert Bell, Gulfport, Miss., and Robert Bell, Somerset, one half-brother, Orville Brown, Wellington, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the Oak Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Roscoe Stringer and the Rev. William M. Brown conducted the services. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
