Eunice lived her entire life in the Seattle area, graduating from Roosevelt High School. She married Harold Maher of North Dakota, and they had four children. She was a secretary with the Boeing Company and a member of the Women's Society of Skyway Methodist Church. Active in her children's lives, she encouraged numerous extracurricular activities and served as an assistant leader with Scouts.
At around 35 years of age Eunice was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought the disease for 12 years before she finally succumbed on July 26, 1968, two of her children still in high school.
