Norman W. Faber, 84, of Fostoria, passed away 8:58 am Saturday October 25, 2014 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born January 3, 1930 in Alvada to Joseph William and Lanora (Schmitz) Faber. He married Janine Lay on January 26, 1952 in Carey and she survives in Fostoria. Also surviving are five children, Richard (Kathy) Faber, Fostoria, James Faber, Boulder, CO, Jerry (Mary) Faber, Auburn, IN, Dennis Faber, Salt Lake City, UT and Christina (Jeff) Sibbersen, Perrysburg; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, LaVera Williams and Helen Beidelschies. Norman retired in 1983 as a supervisor from Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria after 30 years of service. He was a United States Korean Army Veteran and a member of the New Riegel American Legion Post # 354. He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus of Fostoria Council # 1197 and a 4th degree member of Fr. Raymond G. Kirsch Assembly # 845, Fostoria. Visitation is Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:45 pm and a 4th degree honor guard will take place from 6-8 pm with a chalice presentation at 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, where the New Riegel American Legion will provide military honors.
