Otis A. Cook Death Victim

Otis A. Cook, 68, of 603 Twelfth Street SW, Hickory died unexpectedly at his residence Thursday at 4 PM.

A son of the late William and Leona Fredell Cook, he was born in Catawba County May 13, 1903. His wife, Sue Bowman Cook, preceded him in death and he was a retired textile worker.

Funeral services will be conducted at Longview Baptist Church, of which he was a member, Saturday at 3 PM. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The body will remain at the Hickory Funeral Home where the family will receive today from 7:30 to 9 PM. At other times the family will be at the home of a nephew, Harvey Yount Jr. of 823 Seventh Street SE, Hickory.

He is survived by a brother, Andrew Cook, and a sister, Mrs. Harvey Yount Sr., both of Hickory, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
