Son of Thomas H and Margaret (Green) Bryans. Married Emma Elizabeth Armistead 19 Sept 1844 in Henry Co., Ga. Had five children: Mary Excer, Lillie, Walter E., Holland James and Margaret. His death date of 16 April 1890 was specified in the Petition and Designation of Henry L. Bryans as administrator of his Estate.

A brief mention in The Covington star of April 29, 1890, indicated that he " was killed in a railroad accident, at Tacoma, Washington Territory, on the 16th of April." No further information available.
