Dora Maude Ream-Davis, 91, of Ephrata, Washington passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata. She was born in Avard, OK on March 17, 1923 to Mr. & Mrs. Leon Johnson. Dora graduated from Avard High School as Validictorian, and was a member of the Honor Society. She attended Northwestern State College where she was a member of the Future Homemakers Club, and became an Alumni Association Life member. This is where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from and shortly after graduating the State of Oklahoma issued her a Public School Teaching Certificate. She married Harold M. Ream on November 20, 1943 in Avard, OK. Dora’s family moved to Ephrata, Washington shortly after graduating. She was not able to use her teaching certificate in Washington, so Dora began working for the Bureau of Reclamation until she retired 30 years later. On June 17, 1989 she married Elmer J. Davis. Dora was an amazing seamstress and could knit just about anything.

Dora is survived by her daughter Madeline Ream of Ephrata, Wa; her sister Louise Hecht; her grandchildren Michelle and Melissa Taylor of Ephrata, and Gordon Mahlert of Rovereto, Italy; and her great-grandchildren; Emmalee Taylor of Ephrata, Nathan DeCamp of Calif, Michael Jeffery and Jared Jeffery both of Warden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Della Ottie Johnson and Leon Merle Johnson; her daughter, Marcheta Mahlert in 1967; and her husbands; Harold M. Ream and Elmer J. Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Ephrata Cemetery.
