James H. Kazda age 71, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Friday, October 24, 2014. James was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara; daughter Michele Cooper and her husband Scott of IL; granddaughter, Paige Cooper of IL; stepson, Jason E. Parnell of Lawrenceville; brothers, Joe and his wife Emma of LA, and Gregory Kazda of FL; sisters, Carolyn Becker and her husband Steve of Duluth and Mary Hubbard and her husband Dean of FL; many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford James Kazda and Mary Lindsmeyer Kazda of FL; son, James Kazda Jr.; James served 6 years in the U.S. Navy, and was formerly employed as an Electronic Salesman for Scientific Atlanta. A Memorial Service Honoring the Life of James will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2PM at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Pastor Barry Carter officiating. Inurnment will be at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 5PM-8PM and Sunday, October 26th from 1PM until the time of service. James received special care at Mali Nassers personal Alzheimers care home. He attended Grace Arbor Respice Care program at First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville for 2 years.
Jim suffered from Alzheimer's/Dementia for several years but was cared for at home until a couple of months prior to his death. Jim was a very smart and gifted man who could do anything, and did majority of the work on a cabin he built at Lake Oconee. He was very friendly and humble, and remained so until almost the end of his life.
