DIED: Hempke - At his home in this city, May 31, 1898, Henry Hempke, aged 79 years. Deceased was one of the early settlers of Two Rivers, having settled here 51 years ago. He was born in Hildesheim, Hanover on the 25th of May, 1819. In 1845 he came to this country and for two years resided in Milwaukee and in 1847 he came to this city to reside which place was his home until the time of his death. He served 3 years and 3 months in the 27th Regiment during the Civil War and was both a good soldier and a good citizen. He leaves two daughters and one son. His funeral took place from the Lutheran church last Friday and was attended by a large number of the old residents of this city and county.

A petition for final settlement was filed in the estate of Henry Hempke and Theresa Bauman in Judge Anderson's court yesterday. K.G. Nyhagen was appointed administrator in the estate of John V. Erickson, and bonds required in the sum of $800.
