Jane Bajan, 78, of Nazareth, died Nov. 16, 2006, in V.N.A. Hospice of St. Lukes, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Alexander Alex Bajan, who died Nov. 17. They were married for 59 years. Jane was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Northampton, a daughter of the late Elwood and Florence (Trautman) Newhard. Jane and her husband Alex were the owners of Bajans Market in Nazareth for 26 years. She also worked at the former Hess Brothers, Allentown. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Nazareth, where she was a member of the Philethia Choir. She was a former Girl Scouts Leader, a member of the Red Hat Society, the Community Chorus of Nazareth, the Chrysanthemum Club, The Junior Senior Womens Club of Nazareth. She was an avid golfer and traveler. She was a volunteer for the Nazareth Area Food Bank.
Survivors: Two daughters, Sally Livingood of Laureldale, Pa., Alis Bajan at home; two grandchildren, P. Alexander Danner, Michelle Livingood; She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Kilpatrick, in 1987.
Services: A joint Memorial Service for Jane and Alex will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at 7 p.m. in St. Johns Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth. Arrangements, Reichel Funeral Home, 220 Washington Park, Nazareth.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nazareth Area Food Bank or MIVA, c/o the funeral home, Nazareth, PA 18064.
