Danny's childhood family lived in Magna, where he attended Webster Elementary, Cyprus Jr High, Cyprus High School. He worked at Kennecott Copper's Arthur Mill, amd lived in the dormitory there, where he played on their basketball team. He met Phillis Jones one morning at breakfast when she delivered her father to the mill so she could use the family car. Originally Catholic, Danny converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Danny loved team sports, and was an outstanding bowler, He participated in many bowling leagues and was an avid Jazz fan. He loved the University of Utah and Air Force Academy teams as well. His career at Kennecot was 45 years. After retirement, he worked part-time at Hercules as a security guard. His hobbies included sports and model trains.
