William Anderson was the son of James Hayes Anderson and Mary Ann Henderson. He was one of ten children. He married Margaret Anne McMullen, dau of John McMullen and Sarah Ann Cunningham in Hinchinbrooke. To this union were born eight children: Jane Law, Rebecca Edith, Isabella, Alexander Russell, Robert Arthur, Ann Elizabeth, Mina Mable and William. William died in Hinchinbrooke in 1919 at the age of 65 years.
