Funeral services will be held at Ferris Center Church of Christ in Vestaburg on Friday, January 19, 2001 at 11 am with Bruce Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Ferris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ferris Church of Christ Building Fund or the Carson City Hospice.
Dorothy was born October 1, 1915 in Beverly, Ohio and came to Michigan in 1934 to attend
Adrian College. She married Merton Wilson, her beloved husband of 50 years, on April 8, 1939. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1989.
Dorothy worked for over 25 years at the Department of Social Services. She was a longtime member of the Vestaburg Women's Club and the Garden Club and was a faithful member of Ferris Church of Christ for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, listening to the Tigers games on the radio and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, William and Kathy Wilson of Stow, Ohio, James and Dianne Wilson of Vestaburg, Sara and David Woolfenden of Clarkston, Mich. and Richard and Yvonne Wilson of Imlay City; grandchildren, Bill and Rachelle, Julie and John, Nancy and Dave, Jamie and Kerry, Stephen, Tricia and Brad; great grandchildren, Kelly, Alex, Madeline, Brandon and Jack; her sister, Ruth Garris of Winter Haven, Fla., and many other family members in Ohio and in the Vestaburg area.
