T. D. Spencer Dies In Linton Hospital

Thomas D. Spencer, age 58, of Switz City, Indiana, died Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock at the Freeman-Greene County Hospital in Linton. He had been in failing health since April. Mr. Spencer was well-known and had served as principal at the Pleasantville school for the last four years. He was a member of the Methodist church of Switz City and a member of the Masonic Lodge there. He was the son of J. Dan and Casalida Spencer.
Surviving are the widow, Ruby; a son, Robert DeWitt, at home; one brother, Joseph, of Switz City; two sisters, Lora M. Spencer, of Switz City, and Mrs. Ralph Overman, of Urbana, Ill.
The body was taken to the Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Linton and removed to the residence one-half mile north of Switz City this evening where it will lie in state. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. Robert Walker, of Jasonville, and the Rev. H. L. Karns, of Pleasantville, officiating. The Masonic lodge will have charge of graveside services. Burial will be in the Switz City cemetery.
