Thomas Archer was in the American Revolution serving from North Carolina.

Archer seemed to have been a bit of a land speculator. His 640 acres of land (NC land grant #2344), on the west side of Yellow Creek, was surveyed July 24, 1791. He had purchased the grant from Thomas Hays who had gotten it from Daniel Haston who was a Revolutionary War veteran.

Thomas Archer: Died before 5 October 1818 when the administratrix, Polly Archer, now Polly Brown, made a settlement. Jeremiah Brown was appointed guardian for Stephenson, Easter Maria and John Archer, minor children. (Dickson County, TN, Co Ct Min, Book 2, no page #)

Here is more information I've collected on Thomas Archer.
