Clinton Ogilvie
Clinton Ogilvie, the well-known landscape artist, died yesterday at the Sherman Square Hotel, Broadway and Seventy-first Street. Mr. Ogilvie was born in New York in 1838. He studied art under James Hart, and made a specialty of landscapes, in which branch of painting he achieved a wide reputation. He spent several seasons abroad, having studios at different periods in Paris, Nice and Mentone. He painted a number of pictures of French and Swiss scenery which were exhibited both in Europe and America. Since 1864 he had been a member of the National Academy of Design.

Mr. Ogilvie was a son of William Halsey[Hardenbrook] Ogilvie. His wife survives him. She has not been in good health, and the shock of her husband's death has completely prostrated her. The funeral of Mr. Ogilvie will take place Saturday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. in St. James's Church, Madison Avenue and Seventy-first Street. The interment will be in Morristown, NJ.
