On October 21, 1883, Leroy Joseph Baird was married to Mary H. Parker in Yates City, Knox County, Illinois. Mary Henrietta Parker was born on March 20, 1859 in Iowa according to the 1880 census.
Leroy and Mary are known to have had two children, Ellen Elizabeth Baird and Earl Melville Baird. The "Historical
Encyclopedia of Illinois" published in Chicago in 1899 tells us that, Leroy Joseph Baird was a Banker and Real Estate Dealer in Williamsfield, Illinois; Leroy was born near Williamsfield, Elba Township, Knox County, Illinois on December 16, 1857, the son of William Harison Baird and Elizabeth Jane (Farwell) Baird. Leroy was reared on his father's farm and educated in the common schools and at Hedding College, Abingdon, Knox County, Illinois. In 1880, he bought a farm which he managed for several years, finally leaving it in 1890 to engage in the banking and real estate business at Williamsfield. Leroy and Mary had two children;
1. Ellen Elizabeth Baird, born July 11, 1884 in Knox County, Illinois. In the early 1900's, Ellen was married to ___________ Ward in ___________ County, ___________. However he died sometime before 1910 and Ellen is found widowed and residing with her parents at the time of the 1910 census, seen below.
Ellen was married 2nd to Armin/Arnie/Arnnie Hugh Williams on June 3, 1914 in Ames, Story County, Iowa. Armin H. Williams (1877 - 1937) was born in Polk County, Iowa, the son of Livingston Williams and Mary E. Hale/Hall. This is found on familysearch.org.
Ellen and Armin moved briefly to Michigan, before moving to California. In the 1920, 1930 and 1940 census, records, Ellen and her family are found in Stanislaus County, California.
