Bernard J. Higgins, 76, of 92 Whittlesey Avenue, West Orange, New Jersey died yesterday at Orange Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Higgins, a retired hatter, had lived in the Oranges since coming from his native Ireland 55 years ago.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Catherine Higgins; four sons James and Frank of West Orange, Joseph of Orange, and William of Montclair; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Martin (Anna) of Orange and Mrs. Richard J. Powers (Colleta) of Montclair; two brothers; Thomas of Orange, and Stephen of Ireland and four sisters, Mrs. Delia Morahan and Mrs. Winifred Hart of Orange and Mrs. Elizabeth Cassidy of Newark and Mrs. Anne Burns of Ireland.
Funeral will be from Home for Services, 56 Park Street, Montclair at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, West Orange for a Solemn High Requiem Mass at 10 a.m.
