Yvonne L. Hammes, 74, of Anderson, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, after an extended illness. Born in DeQuincy, she had resided in Brook, Lafayette and Anderson for the past 34 years. Her marriage of 36 years was to Elmore Martin Hammes, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

She was a retired registered Nurse and served as a Lieutenant in the Navy during the Korean War. Mrs. Hammes was a member of the Anderson Area Art Association, Fountain Park Chautauqua, Franciscan Society and St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Surviving are a brother, Paul LeBlanc (wife: Marian); and her children, Mary Duncan (husband: Steve), Robin Wetli (husband: Michael), Roman Hammes (wife: Kris), Elmore Hammes, and Anne Raney (husband: Paul).
