Ann Barich, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully among friends and family at her home on July 8, 2008, in Reno, NV. Ann was born on March 18, 1920, to Michael and Manda Brklacich in Superior, WY., 1 of 6 children in the family. Though her formal schooling ended shortly after completing the 8th grade, she had a love of learning that continued throughout her life. She was an avid reader, game and card enthusiast, an expert puzzle-solver and a fan of professional sports from baseball to tennis. Ann was a hard worker who applied her multitude of talents in a variety of jobs throughout her life. As a young woman in Utah, Ann became a hairdresser and eventually owned her own beauty shop, and she proudly served her country as a "Rosie the Riveter" at an ammunition factory during WWII. She later worked for an optometrist in Spokane, WA., and spent several years as an employee in the gift shop at Harrah's Casino in Reno. Ann raised 3 daughters, Stella (Lee) Kolb of Spokane, WA, Jan (Sid) Wilson of Post Falls, ID and Barbara Rederford of Reno, NV. She was a grandmother to 6 girls and 1 boy, and great- grandmother to 8 children. Ann is survived by brothers, Mike Burklacich of Santa Rosa, CA and John Pavich of Taylorsville, UT. Ann was preceded by sisters, Katie Foote and Mary Brown; brother, Anthony Barich; and her husband John Barich who passed away in 1981.
