Services for Lucille Anderson-Nash, 71, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy C. Johnson and the Rev. Kirk Rushing officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Cemetery, Woodford. Born on March 12, 1933, in Woodford to the late Lavada Thompson and Sylvester Anderson, she died on Sept. 17, 2004, at her home in Ardmore.
She and James Nash were married on Oct. 21, 1960, in Ardmore.
She graduated from Douglass High School in 1950 and from Langston School of Cosmetology in 1954. She was an instructor at Aladdin Beauty School, employed by Memorial Hospital for 16 years, and retired from Exchange National Bank. She was a 60-year member of Mt. Zion Church, serving as president of WMU, chairperson of Chickasaw District's Women in White annual event, and as a Mt. Zion bereavement clerk. She was also a member of Ladies of Action and Bananza Club.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, James Jr., Bryan, Texas, and Mark, Lawton; three daughters, Lavelle Dyer, Tulsa, Ja'Net Nash, De Soto, Texas, and Janice Lampkin, Covington, Ga.; a brother, Zelto Anderson; seven sisters, Earlene Houston, Tulsa, Ann Anderson, Oklahoma City, Georgia Johnson, Oklahoma City, Betty Banks, Ardmore, Mittie Mae Anderson, Wichita Falls, Texas, Alice Dinwiddie, Ardmore, and Hildred Benson, Ardmore; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by brothers, Maceo Anderson and Warren Croomes; and a grandson.
Bearers will be Paul Murray, Kedrick Knox, Wayne and Darryl Anderson, Anthony Nash and Prince Nash Jr. Honorary bearers are deacons and trustees of Mt. Zion.
