Mrs. Della Z. Russell Dies In Pittsburg Home

Mrs. Della Z. Russell, 85, a resident of Cherokee and vicinity since 1879, died at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the St. Vincent's nursing home in Pittsburg. She had been in ill health for several years and was a patient at Mt. Carmel hospital recently before being moved to the nursing home.

Born March 16, 1871 in Indiana, she came to Cherokee with her parents at the age of eight. They lived on a farm two miles west on county line road. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bodenhoffer, deceased, will be remembered by many of the older folks.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Johnson of Eldorado Springs, Mo., Mrs. Dacre Merry of Texhoma, Okla., and Mrs. Elsie Stiffin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also surviving are several grandchildren, among them Rolland Russell of Cherokee.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the Brennan chapel in Pittsburg. Rev. W.E. Griffiths was in charge of the service. Interment was in the Cherokee cemetery.
