He was a graduate of Bedford High School class of 1960 and earned his associate's degree from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree in business from Indiana Wesleyan College in Marion. Larry joined the U.S. Air Force in 1963 and was a policeman. While in the Air Force, he was stationed at Na Trang, Vietnam, and while on night watch, his assignment was to guard an orphanage that was being rebuilt after the Vietcong destroyed it. He also guarded downed helicopters, aircraft shot down and downed aircraft due to mechanical failure. His last assignment was to Bunker Hill AFB, Bunker Hill, when he was honorably discharged in 1967.
Larry started with GM at the Foundry in Bedford in 1968 and he hired in at Delco as a die cast operator in 1973. He retired after 21 years of service from Delco. He also worked at Crane Naval Base in Bedford, and he was a substitute teacher at Pinallis High School in Florida.
He was a former member of UAW Local 440 and a member of Local 292. He attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
