Roger Mason Chowning, age 60, of Summit Drive, Paris, Kentucky, retired IBM employee, United States Air Force veteran, husband of Nancy Dennis Chowning, died Thursday, February 28, 2008. He was born July 27, 1947, in Scott County, Kentucky, the son of Aileen Marshall Chowning, of Georgetown, and the late James Mason Chowning. He was a graduate of Scott County High School and a member of North Middletown Church of the Nazarene.

Roger is survived by: two sons, James Anthony (Julie) Chowning, of Cincinnati, and Gregory Mason (Nikki) Chowning, of Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Gregory Dalton, Mason Anderson, James Harlan and Eden Lorraine Chowning.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Carl Baker, with interment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Wayne Dennis, Bill Knippenberg, Ken Higdon, William Rogers, J.B. Ritchie and Mike Marshall. Honorary bearers will be Tina Napier, Marie Jones, Gusta Larson, Chrissy Perry, Angie Little and the rest of the staff of C Wing at Winchester Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice East.
