Georgetta Day Brickner, 91, born September 4, 1920, passed away on May 15th in Lake Worth, Florida, where she resided the last few years. She previously lived her entire life in Harrisburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late George L. Brickner and Ethel Thrush Brickner.
Georgetta graduated from Lower Paxton High School. She supported her country during WWII working assembly lines to build aircraft. Art was her passion. With a florist father and some professional training she developed her skills with a specialty in water color. Her professional experience ranged from catalog art for McFarland's Printers to her work at the PA State Museum, most notably Mammal Hall. She retired in 1982. She was a member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by one sister, Gloria Hutchinson and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Katherine Brickner, Ethelyn Mayer, Gladys Mace, Violette Brickner and brothers: Robert and Richard Brickner.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday May 31st, 2 pm at Pine Street Presbyterian Church. All are welcome. A private burial will be held at the Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions can be made to Why at the Well, 17 E.
