IN LOVING MEMORY OF TERRY SCHMUTZ Hubert Terry Schmutz was born on November 13, 1942 in Van Nuys, California and entered heaven on February 18, 2011 from his home in Menifee, California. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Marcie; 2 children Alan Schmutz & Karen Swanson (Van); 3 grandchildren Amanda Swanson, Stephen Grant and Brendan Grant; and his brother John Schmutz. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen, his son Kenneth, his brother Harry and sister Patsy. Terry retired after 28 years of service with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as a Battalion Chief. During his career he worked different assignments including being the first Fire Captain at the Sun City station. Terry worked at the Perris station and then served as the Battalion Chief for Lake Elsinore for 14 years until his retirement. Terry also worked at Dan's Feed and Seed in both Perris and San Jacinto. Terry enjoyed traveling with his family and was a great story teller with a quick wit and lots of laughter. Terry was an avid University of Southern California fan and loved sports in general. He was a generous and caring person who was always willing to help those around him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church in Wildomar.
