HAMILTON, MARTIN (6) (1861-1947) son of John "Thundering John" and Rebecca Curtis (son John's family). He married Effie May Hamilton daughter of David O. (Son Ambrose's) Martin's house is on the north road easterly from the church. He was a cook on stone sloops at 17. Mrs. Eric Kelly interviewed Martin a few years before his death and he gave her a great deal of stone sloop information which is SOURCE material in this book. Martin worked for Hamilton & Co. on the Stone Wharf "drove the delivery wagon for nine years and never took a vacation". When Martin got married there was a housing shortage on Chebeague---he and his wife started housekeeping in two front rooms of Aunt Eleanor's house (Simeon Hamilton's #1)--south road at the center.

Married Izetta M. Hamilton, November 9, 1891, Chebeague United Methodist Church. Izetta married Charles Swan Allen, September 5, 1899, Dover, New Hampshire.
