She was a native of Glendale, Ga., a retired co-owner of Bob's Store in Varnville and a member of Varnville First Baptist Church. She was the widow of R.J. Tharpe Sr.
SURVIVORS: four sons, R.J. Tharpe Jr. of Hampton, Bobby Tharpe of North Augusta, Tommy Tharpe of Clarksville, Ga., and Gerald Tharpe of Columbia; three daughters, Jacqueline Jordan of Garnett, Mary T. Winn of Hampton and Virginia Thomas of Columbia; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, burial in Varnville Cemetery.
