This petition to President McKinley recommends the appointment of Florentine Kossuth Bradman as "Consul to Barbadoes" (sic) and is signed by 19 influential Bostonians, in part: "...Mr. Bradman is an honest, sober and thoroughly reliable man of good habits. He has been a resident of this city for seventeen years and has been in business for himself for the past fifteen years. He is an active Republican and is well deserving of the position he seeks
