Cathy Jo Aduddell, 61, of Midland, passed away at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas on October 14, 2014. The family will be accepting guests from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland. Services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Golf Course Road Church of Christ, with Tim Baugh and Burke Brack officiating.

Cathy was born on December 2, 1952 to Kenneth and Delores Hopkins in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Hobbs High School in Hobbs, New Mexico and attended New Mexico Junior College. She was a member of Taylor Street Church of Christ and served with her family until they moved to Midland in June of 1990. Cathy worked at Hobbs Municipal Schools and Midland Independent School District and recently retired after 19 years as a ministry assistant at Golf Course Road Church of Christ. She was "Cathy Jo" to the staff and her happy, loving spirit touched many lives as she served in the youth, singles and family ministries. She loved to cook for others and was famous for her "Rum Cake." And, she really loved to plan and take vacation trips with her family to Walt Disney World.

Cathy was married to Tom Aduddell for 43 years and adored him, her parents and sister, children, and grandchildren who lovingly called her "Nana." Her beautiful blue eyes and sweet smile were contagious and her personality would light up the room. Cathy loved the Lord and His church and her servant heart touched all she came in contact with. She will be missed by her family and friends but her legacy of compassion and service will live on for generations.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Tom Aduddell of Midland, Texas; parents, Ken and Delores Hopkins of Midland, Texas; mother-in-law, Joyce Helen Waldrip of Abilene, Texas; her children, Thomas Hopkins Aduddell of Keller, Texas, Christopher Todd Aduddell of Lubbock, Texas, and Amy Jo Morris of Lubbock, Texas; her daughters-in-law, Christa Aduddell of Keller, Texas, and Jamie Aduddell of Lubbock, Texas; her son-in-law, Chris Morris of Lubbock, Texas; her grandchildren, Amberlee and Brady Aduddell of Keller, Texas, and Addison and Austin Morris of Lubbock, Texas; her sister and brother-in-law, Luann and Jordan Rutherford of Gary, Texas; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Jan Aduddell of Spring, Texas, Gary and Robin Blakeney of Bertram, Texas, and Teresa Hollis of Lubbock, Texas; and her wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved deeply. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, A.E. and Mae Millison of Idabel, Oklahoma, H.A. and Ollie Boggs of Hazen, Arkansas; and fathers-in-law, Rob Aduddell of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Tommy Waldrip of Abilene, Texas.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all relatives and friends for the many prayers, food and cards of encouragement. They also express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses in Midland and Dallas who provided many hours of care to Cathy during her battle with cancer. We all wanted complete healing and more life for her, but our Heavenly Father called her home to be with him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, or any local ministry of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
