December 30, 1939 - October 8, 2014

STAYTON - Denny, 74, died October 8, 2014 at home with family by his side in Stayton, after a long battle of complications following open heart surgery. He was born in Hubbard, and lived all of his life in Stayton.

Denny worked all of his life in the wood products industry, retiring from Trus Joist as a press operator. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Stayton and also the social network club in downtown Stayton. Denny served as a volunteer fireman in Stayton from 1970 - 1986, also served as a board member for the Stayton Fire District. He enjoyed fly fishing and was a master fly tier, he also enjoyed, hunting and camping. As a young man, Denny was an avid scuba diver, and was hard hat certified.

He is survived by his children: Jeff (Tina) Deetz of Lyons and Rebecca Deetz of Battleground, WA; sister: Sharon (Jim) Lewis of Stayton; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be Monday, October 13, 2014 from 3-7 pm at North Santiam Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton, with a reception to follow at the Stayton Moose Lodge.
