Ruby (Cox) Kitchen died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 91 on Friday, October 10, 2014. Ruby's focus in life was her family, both immediate and extended. She opened her heart and home to many and leaves a legacy of faith, family and unending love. She is mourned and survived by her children, Ruby Lou Kitchen, Robert D. Kitchen, Donna (Kitchen) Albright and Darlene (Kitchen) Macleod, her daughter-in-law Twyla Kitchen and son-in law Tom Macleod, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of many but fills the open arms of her waiting loved ones and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300; Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
Visitation and Remembrance will be Friday, October 17th from 6-8 p.m. and the funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18th, both will be held at the First Baptist Church, 2900 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66102. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas, 66112. A luncheon will follow interment at Stony Point Christian School, 149 South 78th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66111. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas, 66112.
