ST. SIMONS ISLAND -- Jane Irene Phillips Hammond, 77, died Aug. 3 at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick. She was a native of Anderson, S.C., a resident of Glynn County for 48 years and a member of Glynn Haven Baptist Church, St. Simons Island. She was a longtime employee of Rich-Seapak Corp., where she was a member of the St. Simons Island Bowling League.

SURVIVORS: three sisters, Jewell McQuay of Rehoboth, Del., Nell King of Ocean City, Md., and Virginia Marchegiani of Leesburg, Fla.; and three friends, Julie and Janet Hester and Joan Vann, all of St. Simons Island.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 4:30 p.m. Aug. 11 in Oglethorpe Cemetery on St. Simons Island.
