He served as a chaplain throughout the Revolutionary War. Family legend is that he preached a sermon on his 100th birthday.
This photo[that I added] was taken by a descendant, Mary Frances Chamberlain Allen in the 1990's. Hard to read, but top line says "Rev. John Williams" and the 3rd line says "Roger Williams". The 4th line has __ Provience, RI __ and that is all I can see.
