DEATH CLAIMS THOMAS BROWN

MONTICELLO, Ind. — Thomas Nolan Brown, 97, probably White
county's oldest resident, passed away early Wednesday morning following a recent illness. He had been in failing health for some time, but had remained unusually active for his age.

Born March 9, 1855, in Garrett county, Ky., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Asa S. Brown. On Feb. 11, 1879, he was married to Sarah B. Christopher.

Mr. Brown moved with his family from Kentucky to Indiana in 1896. He resided in White county for 35 years. His wife preceded in death on Nov. 18, 1950. He was custodian of the Monticello city park for more than 13 years.

Survivors include two children; Mrs. Ona Hibner, Monticello; and William A. Brown, Hanawalt Road, two great grandchildren.

The body is at the Miller funeral home where friends may call after noon Thursday. Final rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Elaine E. Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be made in the Riverview cemetery.
