Gerald E. "Whitey" Allshouse, 86, of Clay Plant Road, Brockway, died Sunday, Oct. 12 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born on May 9, 1928, in Brockway, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Marie Matson Allshouse.

He was married on Oct. 8, 1950 to Aileen Faye Truesdale; she survives.

Retired, he had been employed for over 35 years as a carpenter at Cramer Lumber and Supply and then worked for another 10 years at Freemer Reclamation.

He was a U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran, serving in the 5th Infantry Division.

Whitey was a member at the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway, Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion, Brockway Sportsmens Club, was a member of the Democratic Committee for Jefferson County and served on the Brockway Recreational Board.

He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

In addition to his wife Faye he is survived by two daughters, Terri (Dennis) Noland and Sharon Tokarcik, both of Brockway; a son, Jerry (Jackie) Allshouse of Butler; a brother, George Pendleton of Brockway; and two sisters, Shirley Welsh and Marjorie (David) McLaughlin, also both of Brockway. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Catherine Allshouse and a brother, Ralph Pendleton.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Moorhead United Methodist Church also in Brockway with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion Wednesday morning at the church. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Moorhead United Methodist Church, 335 Main Street Brockway, PA 15824 or the Alzheimer's Association , 1128 State Street, Ste. 301 Erie, PA 16501.
