Oran A. Hunting, age 81, our beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother joined his Heavenly Father on October 11, 2014.

Oran was born to Earl and Phyllis Williams Hunting on November 4, 1932 in Vernal, Utah.

Oran first started driving truck at an early age hauling logs off our family place on Diamond Mountain. He also drove truck for Pease Bros. and James on the Pipeline. He then worked for Bob Jones's trucking for 22 years. After leaving Jones he drove truck for his brother Ray Hunting hauling cows for the local ranchers he did this until he retired at the age of 76.

His greatest love in life was spending time on the mountain with his grandkids and family.

Oran was a member of the Church of Later Day Saint of Jesus Christ.

He married Doreen Reynolds December 4, 1945 in Ely Nevada; they were later sealed in the Vernal Utah temple on July 18, 2001.

Oran served in the Military during the Korean conflict.

He was a great example to all of us especially to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by never forgotten.

Oran is survived by his loving wife (cupcake) Doreen Reynolds Hunting, 3 sons, David Oran Hunting of Grand Junction, CO; Gene (Lynette) Hunting of Vernal, Utah; Terrill (Tonya) Hunting of Vernal, Utah; 13grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with two great grandchildren on the way.

Oran was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Phyllis Hunting; 5 brothers, Brandon, Henry, Max, Ray and Dell.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashley 1st LDS Ward Chapel (3040 North Vernal Ave).

Friends and family may call at the Blackburn Mortuary, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Chapel from 9:45-10:45 until time of services.

Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, with Military Honors provided by American Legion and The Utah National Guard.

Services are entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
