Annie Oleno Poulsen Anderson

Annie Olena Poulsen Anderson, 97, Brigham City, formerly of Corinne and Ogden, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1987, at Pioneer Memorial Nursing home, Brigham City, of causes incident to age.

She was born March 17, 1890, in Georgetown, Idaho, a daughter of Ole and Annie Johanna Maria Peterson Poulsen.

She was married to Carl John Anderson on Aug. 7, 1909, in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. He died Aug. 15, 1953.

She was reared and educated in Brigham City, completing the eighth grade. She received a teaching certificate through a correspondence course.

She and her husband lived in Brigham City, later moving to Corinne. She organized the first Boy Scout unit in Corinne, and was a member of the LDS church, having served in the various auxiliaries, both as a teacher and in presidencies. She was a visiting teacher for 65 years and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and affiliated with the Farm Bureau in Corinne.

She graduated from the LDS teacher training course when she was 80 years old and had been a member of the ward choir. Her hobbies were knitting, crochetting, quilting and reading.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters: Gerald P. Anderson, Salt Lake City; Carlyle Anderson, Hemet, Calif.; John P. Anderson, and Mrs. Chris (Oleda) Blickfeldt, both of Ogden; Mrs. BoYd B. (Janice) White, Perry; Mrs. Howard L. (June) Blood, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Renald R. (Maurine) McFarland, Layton; 34 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Minnie Jackson, Brigham City.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Olsen-Myers mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, where friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in Brigham City cemetery.
