Alice M. Alvord, 82, died March 4, 1995 at the home of a nephew in Simi Valley, California. She was born May 10, 1912 in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Benjamin Thaddeus and Valana Jensen Alvord. She was raised and educated in Brigham City. She was a member of the LDS Church.
She graduated from the Thomas Dee Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. She worked in hospitals in Brigham City, Ogden, Hawaii and California. She loved to travel and had traveled
extensively throughout the world.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Roma Alvord, Nyssa, Oregon; nine nieces and nephews: Steven (Ruth) Tingey, Grace, Idaho; Benjamin (Louise) Tingey, Juntura, Oregon; Kayla (Grant) Nelson, Mantua, Utah; Michael (Moira) Alvord, Hurricane. Utah; Richard (Loretta) Alvord, Simi Valley, California; Maren (Gary) Dixon, Brigham City, Utah; Jon Alvord, Burbank, California; Valana (Richard) Durham, Boise, Idaho; and
Debbie (Ben) Werner, Nampa, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Anna Alvord Tingey, and a brother, Ralph Jensen Alvord.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 1995, 12:30 p.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
