Marcella Gladys Christopherson, daughter of Martin and Gina (Sommervold) Christopherson was born June 30, 1919 on the family farm near Hendricks, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended country school and later Hendricks High School through the eleventh grade. She was united in marriage to Millard Lang on September 2, 1937 in Elkton, SD. To this union six children were born. Millard and Marcella moved from Hendricks to the Big Stone Lake area and lived on various farms. The family moved to Cyrus in 1950 and farmed there until 1979, when they moved to Starbuck for Millard's retirement. Marcella joined the flowers club and Fron Lutheran Church where she enjoyed the church activities. She worked at Toby's Café in Cyrus, Nodland Café in Starbuck, Pizza Place in Morris and Peter's Resort in Glenwood, where she retired from in 1985. Following their retirement, Marcella and Millard helped many friends and neighbors volunteering to drive them to doctor's appointments, shopping and other errands.

Marcella was a talented lady, doing chores on the farm, raising chickens, cooking (her famous caramel rolls), sewing bridesmaid dresses, crocheting afghans, quilting and doing crafts. She loved country music, bingo, Minnesota Twins and being with her family. She spent a lot of time having coffee with her friend Judy and her senior companion Louise. She was a caring and compassionate person. Once you met here you would never forget her. One simple phone call from friends or family would make a great day for her. We will miss you beautiful, feisty little lady. Rest in peace now and we will see you later Mom.

Marcella died Friday, October 10, 2014 at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN. She lived to reach the age of 95 years.

She is survived by her three sons: Curtis Lang (Lisa Anderson) of Starbuck, Larry (Pat) Lang of Starbuck and Daniel (Mary) Lang of Morris; three daughters: Janice (Donavon) Dahlgren of Starbuck, Marilyn (Wayne) Swanson of Starbuck and Bonnie (Rudy) Vergoth of Embarrass; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Hemish of Canby and Alice (Jim) Leuning of Brooklyn Park; two sisters-in-law: Ruby Christopherson of East Bethel and Barbara Christopherson of Buffalo Lake; brother-in-law: Glen Anderson of Elkton, SD and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
